About savorin.online
savorin.online publishes explanatory writing about consumer computer security. It is a small, advertising-funded site with one named editor and no pretence of being anything larger.
What this site is
The premise is narrow and, we think, useful: most writing about security products explains what to buy without explaining what the thing does. We try to do the reverse — describe the mechanism accurately enough that you can evaluate any product in the category yourself, including the one we happen to be paid to link to.
Everything here is written for a general reader who is technically curious but not a specialist. We assume you can find your own settings menu and that you would rather be told how something works than reassured that it does.
Who publishes it
savorin.online is published by BohDo Fast Transport s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic (IČO 10729933, VAT number CZ10729933), with its registered office at Bílkova 855/19, Staré Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic. The director of publication and responsible editor is Isla Ward, who writes the articles and is accountable for their content. Full details are on the legal notice page.
How it is funded
By affiliate commission, and by nothing else. There is no paywall, no newsletter, no sponsorship of individual articles and no display-advertising network. When you follow a link marked partner link and subsequently buy something, the advertiser pays us a share. Your price is unchanged.
We think that arrangement is defensible only if it is stated plainly and if it is prevented from shaping what we write. The second part is the harder one, and the specific commitments we have made about it are in the editorial policy — including the things we refuse to publish at any price.
What we do not do
- We do not run a cookie banner, because we set no cookies to ask you about.
- We do not run analytics, pixels, fingerprinting or any third-party script.
- We do not have a contact form or a mailing list, because both would collect data.
- We do not publish user reviews, star ratings or testimonials, because we have no way to verify them and the category is full of invented ones.
- We do not claim relationships with the brands we write about. We have none.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, write to info@savorin.online and we will fix it. Substantive corrections are made in the text and noted at the foot of the article rather than made silently. The procedure is set out in the editorial policy.
